Carrefour, the French retail provider, has come up with a new campaign filling the streets of Cairo celebrating their 20th anniversary. The campaign is all about the offers and deals they have in their stores or the mobile application. The Majid Al Futtaim-owned Carrefour Egypt’s last campaign in November was also announcing big deals but it was for Black Friday under the name of Carrefour Friday! In this huge outdoor campaign, Carrefour used bridge billboards, double-pole, digital screens, and uni-pole billboard sizes to fill the streets and catch the eye of anyone passing or driving. Not only that, but they also created this campaign in Egypt’s mother tongue, Arabic, to target as many people as possible from all classes. Moreover, the campaign is very straightforward, it includes the main tagline “completes every home”, with “20th anniversary”; Not only that but also Carrefour has shown the installments ways and the banks and companies you can pay through. Also, the campaign has been placed in more than one packed location in Cairo such as the Ring Road, which indicates a geo-distribution that targets a wide audience and therefore introduces the service to a newer demographic. It’s worth noting that Carrefour was launched in Egypt in 2003. And today, Carrefour operates 14 hypermarkets, 45 supermarkets in Egypt, and 12,000 branches around the world!
