Carrefour, the French retail provider, has come up with a new campaign filling the streets of Dubai featuring their mobile application. The campaign is all about letting people know that they can shop online as well as shopping in-store. Carrefour is the go-to hypermarket for monthly or weekly grocery shopping, but imagine not having to stand in long queues at the cashier! In this huge outdoor campaign, Carrefour used wall-wrapping, hoarding, digital screens, and lamppost billboard sizes to fill the street and catch the eye of anyone passing or driving. Not only that, but they also created this campaign in the Arabic and English languages to target as many people as possible. Moreover, the campaign is so straightforward and simple, with only one text on all the visuals “All your needs IN STORE or ONLINE,” with only a cart and a mobile phone. Also, the campaign has been placed in more than one packed location and major road, which indicates a geo-distribution that targets a broad audience and hence introduces the service to a newer demographic. In their last campaign, Carrefour was promoting their huge Black Friday discounts under the name “Carrefour Friday,” but now it’s an awareness campaign informing people that they can shop online. It’s worth noting that Carrefour was launched in the UAE in 1995. And today, Carrefour operates 28 hypermarkets, 43 supermarkets in the UAE, and 12,000 branches around the world!
