A product packed with vitamins to add a halo to your skin; yes, you guessed it right, it’s Glow & Lovely. The previously known as Fair & Lovely appeared in the Emirati OOH landscape. You will come across the campaign on a fuchsia billboard, a glowing, healthy face, and the announcement of the brand’s new name. The campaign chose to decorate Dubai and used a unipole as an outdoor advertising display. The new name will be “Glow & Lovely” instead of “Fair & Lovely” and promises a healthy, beautiful glow as the cream is packed with multivitamins such as Niacinamide B3, Vitamins B, E, and C. As usual in most UAE advertising, the cheerful campaign is released in Arabic and English to reach audiences who speak Arabic or English. Unilever’s Glow & Lovely change of name came after a controversy surrounding the product. Some noticed that the older marketing campaigns were promoting colorism which led to a huge backlash, especially when people noticed compares between whiter skin to beauty and self-confidence; however, we believe that changing the brand was a move that comes from a brand that listens to criticism.
