October 2022 in Greater Cairo witnessed a slight decline in the occupancy rate of 70% compared to September 2022’s OOH occupancy rate of 71%. This month, a good percentage of 4% growth is noticed in FMCG (Containing Food and Beverages, Cleaning Products, Cosmetics & Personal Care, and Pharmaceuticals & Biotech) in OOH activity compared to September 2022. A noticeable growth rate of 3% in OOH activity for Business Services (Events & Exhibitions showing the highest consistent OOH activity) and a 1% increase in Healthcare as well compared to September. Foodservice also showcases a 1% in growth rate, while Telecommunications, on the other hand, showcases a decline rate of 4% compared to September. A decline rate of 1% in OOH activities was spotted this month compared to October 2021; this translates to a billboard occupancy rate of 70% in October 2022 compared to a 71% billboard occupancy rate in October 2021. In contrast, we notice a 6% increase in the total number of billboards in Greater Cairo compared to October 2021. As we continue the year-to-year OOH activity analysis for each industry between October 2022 and October 2021, we notice that the growth rate of OOH activity for FMCG is 1% and Business Services’ growth rate of 1% compared to October 2021. Telecommunications also shows an increased rate of 3%, and Healthcare shows a growth rate of 1% compared to October 2021.
