McDonald's is partnering up with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, declared on the UAE’s OOH scene. The customer-favorite returns to the scene after their last OOH promotional campaign with the McDonald’s App, to win huge prizes with FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as well.
Cleverly and humorously, McDonald’s decides to be creative as always with their new ad campaign. A tray plays host to their famous, beloved French fries and their Big Mac beef that looks scrumptious. The playful kick, however, is in its wordplay for “Benched”. Everyone is familiar with the term benched in football or sports, where a player is withdrawn from playing a game and has to sit on the bench. McDonald’s utilized this term and its affiliation with FIFA this time to quote-unquote “bench” the pickles, the main ingredient in their burgers. As many people opt to remove ingredients or customize burgers to their liking, the food service brand markets its news in this unique idea.
The new campaign turned up in the third week of October on lampposts, mega-com, and uni-poles.
