The Sharjah International Film Festival for Children & Youth (SIFF) is the first children & youth film festival in The United Arab Emirates and the region, and it is a project of FUNN, an organization established by the Sharjah government (under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah). SIFF organizes the film festival for kids and young people to educate and encourage future generations to learn, create, share experiences, explore cultures, and promote content creation. The festival was established in 2013 and is dedicated to improve the media literacy of children and youth, inspire children’s & youth’s creativity and showcase the very best in filmmaking for, by, and about children and young people. Giving the children of today the necessary push and inspiration to become the creators of tomorrow. In the Arab world, filmmaking has been taking strides lately to keep up with the global industry worldwide and to truly become the tentpole career path for all creative minds. So it’s refreshing to see that the UAE is pushing forward such a progressive initiative with an impressive OOH campaign. The billboards focus on displaying illustrations of film reels, filming equipment, and a director’s chair. Putting the minds of young onlookers in the mindset of becoming a filmmaker. The ad copy “Think Film” is an open invitation for the children to let their imaginations run wild with creative ideas that can be put into film, giving them the nudge they need to become who they aspire to be. At the bottom area of the billboard, the logo for SIFF can be seen, with the logos of the sponsors of the festival listed and presented below, accompanied by the website for those more curious to apply or seek further information. This campaign is a fairly new one that was released during the first week of October and was distributed across OOH spots in Dubai City on Digital Screens, Hoarding, and Lampposts.
