Vodafone has just dazzled Cairo’s OOH scene with their “Living the Summer Joy with Vodafone Music” campaign that had megastar Amr Diab as an ambassador. Now they’re back with a campaign just as strong, “as long as you encourage them, nothing can stop them” is the name of the late July campaign. Vodafone has gathered a plethora of medaled champions and athletes to take reign of their promotion. The distinguished telecommunications company is causing new waves both virtually (with videos on social media and on television) and offline (with their Cairo billboards). Vodafone sets itself apart as an exceptional brand by keeping components of familiar branding, such as the color red and the speech mark. These factors are present in the OOH campaign and the addition of a large team of ambassadors elevates it even more. The star-studded squad on the visuals is comprised of: Hedaya Malak, the Olympic champion in taekwondo; Seif Eissa, winner of the bronze medal in the Olympics; Ibrahim Hamato, the 1st player in history of the Paralympics tournament to play ping pong with his mouth; Ali EL Sawy, international karate player; Dina Meshref, international table tennis athlete; Abdelrahman Wael, athlete in taekwondo and a regional champion; Mohamed Taher Zeyada, international champion in equestrian; Samar Hamza, worldwide champion in wrestling; Mohamed Abdelmawgoud, judo regional champion; Alaaeldin Abouelkassem, Olympic champion in wrestling, and much more prestigious. The billboards are inclusive of athletes with special needs, which reflects Vodafone’s values, as their goal is to introduce Egyptians to these champions. Their support of Egyptian athletes is evident from the visuals, the designers drew inspiration from the Olympics logo and its colors. Therefore, red, green, black, orange, and yellow are livening up the billboards. The campaign’s name is presented alongside Vodafone’s own logo and slogan (“Together We’re Stronger”) in Arabic. Each athlete is posing differently in relation to their sport, dressed in sportswear. The outdoors ads have a few different versions, each with a different set of athletes.
