Right after their Ramadan campaign, international telecom operator Orange continues with an ongoing OOH strategy, making sure that they are present on the roads for every important event; since it’s time for AFCON, Orange launches an OOH campaign to refresh our memories with the previous time we won the championship, bringing Mahmoud Trezeguet, Tarek Hamed and Amr Warda to the billboards of Cairo.
The visuals use the same partition that the brand has been using for a while now, showing mainly two colors, blue and orange, with different patterns and gradients; the ad features the three football stars, having different hairstyles and clothes depending on which decade they want to show; this brings us to the whole concept behind the ad, which is to refresh our memories of the times we were champions of Africa. The ad copy informs “We are the champions of 57”, “We are the champions of 86”, “We are the champions of 98” and so on; it also advises customers to “Cheer & recharge AFCON’s scratch card” giving them a special code to dial; the logos of Orange and CAF appear at the bottom right side.
The campaign was seen during the second week of June, using uni-poles in multiple locations across Greater Cairo.
