Moustafa Ghareeb’s Characters Promise Cash Back with Vodafone
After Vodafone Egypt’s Black Friday last November, it’s time to introduce the all-new cashback feature on Cairo’s OOH billboards, Vodafone Money Back, in collaboration with comedian-actor Mostafa Ghareeb, reminding users of their dues through the Ana Vodafone app with each payment and offering cashback.
The ad features two identical twins played by Mostafa Ghareeb: one dressed as a hospital patient with memory loss, and the other in a green and red suit, visibly annoyed with him. The suited twin believes the patient is faking his amnesia. Then the patient suddenly recalls that he forgot to pay for his Vodafone internet package. As the suited twin questions him about the package through the Money Back section of the app, it becomes clear that the “amnesic” twin actually remembers every detail, emphasizing the idea that anything can be forgotten except money.
The billboards display the twins against the bold Vodafone red background. One twin stares in confusion at his brother, who seems cheerful as he shows the Vodafone Cash interface, suggesting the Money Back feature is making his financial services easier and trustworthy. Including the Arabic tagline in the billboard, which is translated to “It returns what’s yours and reminds you of what you owe,” and the Vodafone logo at the bottom, with the “Money Back” product icon appears at both top and bottom.
The campaign adopted a humorous tone, featuring Mostafa Ghareeb as twins in contrasting moods, and reassuring users by emphasizing the return of control over financial services on the app through the Money Back feature, such as managing money, internet packages, and subscriptions, to make everything much simpler.
