"Stan" the T. rex Invites You to Visit Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi via OOH
The wait is officially over for culture enthusiasts in the capital, as the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi launches a captivating OOH campaign led by its flagship attraction, Stan the T. rex, which took 67 million years to arrive at the specific museum, where curiosity meets knowledge.
The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi officially opened to the public on November 22nd, 2025, in the Saadiyat Cultural District. It features exhibits covering 13.8 billion years of Earth's history, including iconic displays like the Murchison Meteorite and Stan the T. rex, one of the world’s most complete and well-known Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons, is over 70% intact. It was unearthed in South Dakota in 1987 and named “Stan” after its discoverer, Stan Sacrison.
The billboard displays a T. rex figure against a dark, cinematic background, conveying sophistication, mystery, and a premium "blockbuster" feel. Besides, the bilingual white opening announcement of the museum, including the direct CTA, "Book your ticket" "احجز تذكرتك", the official museum logo, placed clearly on the left to establish brand identity, and the website on the bottom right.
The campaign appeared as bridge billboards in the first week of December, to drive immediate awareness of the grand opening and focus on generating excitement using the museum's most famous asset, Stanthe T. rex, while keeping the messaging strictly functional to drive website traffic and ticket sales.
