While Cairo's streets come alive during Ramadan, XPENG, China's EV manufacturer, launches an interesting outdoor ad campaign in Egypt's capital, taking advantage of timely humor and local traditions to leave an impression.

Holding a catchy Ramadan Message with a Modern Twist, XPENG’s campaign slogan "Running late for iftar? With XPENG electric, you’ll beat everyone there." rings perfectly true during Ramadan, when timing is everything. The daily race against sunset to be home in time for iftar is something every local can relate to. By contextualizing their message around this shared experience, XPENG connects on both an emotional and functional level.

Against a serene twilight backdrop of a crescent moon and traditional Ramadan lantern, the advertisement subtly incorporates tradition and modernity. It features two models, the sporty XPENG G6 and the sleek XPENG G9, both illuminated by the lantern's warm glow. The visual cues are that these vehicles are not only technologically intelligent, but also resonate with Egypt's cultural DNA.

The billboards, launched by XPENG's local distributor, RAYA Auto, are strategically positioned on main ring roads and city entrances where drivers are most anxious about outrunning the sunset traffic. This optimizes the message's relevance and exposure, especially during Ramadan's rush hours.

The imagery is bold and stark, with sparse desert terrain, subdued lighting, and the crescent moon evoking serenity, contrasted with the dynamic pose of the cars that convey speed and agility. 

A second ad space in the campaign is a recurring visual, shot in front of the Giza pyramids and an ancient Egyptian temple, stating boldly in English "XPENG G6 — The Electric Ultra Smart Coupe." This billboard clearly targets a broader, tech-savvy, and possibly younger demographic that's drawn to novelty and performance but still values national identity and heritage. The juxtaposition of futuristic vehicles and ancient landmarks makes for a powerful visual statement
