CIB EXPLORE Outdoor Campaign Puts Ordinary Travel in Second Place
CIB’s newest out-of-home advertisement for Explore does not revolve around sound and fuss. It moves purposefully. Launching in major roads around Cairo, its imagery is almost less like advertisement and more like motion, as if it were flowing, moving in direction, and harnessing the concept that modern banking must move as smoothly as its clients.
Following their last OOH appearance, there is a visual theme that comes with a blue gradient finish, with two Explore cards hovering inside the frame. The design is clear, directional, and easy to read, all of which a finance service billboard should be, with their offerings from two hundred thousand hotels, six hundred aviation companies, extra baggage, and free tickets. The headline itself, “On a journey… and still”, is quite simple but also smart and relevant. It addresses the consumer in today’s world who is always on the move (literally and figuratively) and presents the card as their travel companion and not just an offering from the bank.
They draw on aviation and mobility tropes; light trails, depth, and motion imagery to convey effortless movement between points. Trust is established through the Mastercard co-brand, and metallic finishes to cards will reinforce this upscale segment silently.
Where the billboard really succeeds is in its functional storytelling. Rather than the need to write a lot of copy, the billboard employs iconography to advise quickly of value; where the services are free, where the additional perks are located, 200+ lounge access, 600+ airport services.

Strategically, CIB places Explore at a point between aspiration and realism that offers travel and control. Liberty, with a structuring element. The campaign doesn’t show luxury for luxury’s sake; it offers ease. This is a card that comes with a promise – wherever you go, your money always moves as smoothly.
