"Have A Biskrem?" DOOH Campaign Returns to UAE for Back-to-School
There is a satisfying kind of recognition in watching a familiar creature reappear on ground it has claimed before. Ülker-owned Biskrem's golden cookie, and the famous, mouthwatering slip of chocolate that comes with it, last made its move on UAE streets in 2024. Now the same tagline has dropped again on DOOH, engineered so that brand recall lands twice over: once on the eye, once on the ear.
Make no mistake about what this is. It's a brand-recall campaign, built for mass awareness with one job: convert top-of-mind authority into shelf sales. The interesting part isn't what the billboard is doing. It's why it's doing it now.
Why Now: The School Run Changes the Street
The scholar year has started, and children are back in heavy circulation on these roads. The timing lines up with a market that already has an appetite for this category: the UAE's confectionery sector was valued at roughly USD 1,027 million in 2025, with per-capita consumption running close to 68 kilograms a year, among the higher rates in the region. A biscuit blown up to billboard scale is already hard for an adult eye to ignore. For a hungry kid returning from a full school day, it's closer to instinct than persuasion. The billboard isn't really pitching the driver, it's planting a want in the back seat, one that gets voiced at home a few hours later as a request for the lunchbox.
The Creative: An Offer, Not a Sell
Visually, the execution leans entirely on contrast. The near-black of the chocolate filling doubles as the background, set directly against the warm gold of the biscuit itself, and the effect reads almost three-dimensional; a cookie that looks genuinely ready to be bitten rather than photographed.
The copy underneath is exactly as simple as it's always been: "Have a Biskrem?" Phrased as an offer rather than a command, the line positions the brand as generous rather than pushy, closer to a friend holding something sweet out to you than a company asking for a sale. The Biskrem pack sits anchored in the corner, small but doing its job of closing the loop back to the shelf.
One word of caution, driver to driver: don't crash trying to get a second look at that chocolate slipping loose. It's doing exactly what it's there to do.
Built for Repetition, Placed for Reach
The format is DOOH by design, built to use repetition and a touch of animation to keep the craving alive long enough to close the sale. It's placed on both sides of a major Highway, positioned so that most UAE commuters see it, feel it, want it, and, eventually, buy it. It's a similar seasonal instinct to what's shown up elsewhere on UAE streets this back-to-school run, including Talabat's own back-to-school push, though Biskrem is leaning on craving rather than convenience to make its case.
The Back-to-School Opportunity: Catching the 3 PM Craving
The most important read on this campaign is still the timing. This is back-to-school season, and there is no sharper audience for a sweet, filled biscuit than a hungry kid at the end of a school day. Catch that audience while they're actually hungry, and a simple billboard has a real shot at becoming a genuine leap in shelf sales, one lunchbox request at a time.
