Dream 2000 OOH Turns Hatem Salah Into a One-Man Appliance Store
Dream 2000 is back on Cairo's billboards, and this time it isn't renting a single billboard, it's building a presence across mutiple loctions. Several artowork run in parallel, turning a single commute into a running conversation about the retailer's installment offers.
Same Dream 2000, Different Message
The campaign splits its attention across format and audience rather than repeating one message four times. A large white board anchors the setup with Dream 2000's core pitch, "مش حاجة ولا اتنين... دول 2000" (not one thing or two, these are 2000), listing mobiles, accessories, laptops, and home appliances under one hotline. Beneath it, a second board shifts tone entirely, using a staged period scene, a group in vintage costume, to sell installment plans at cash price with no added interest. Across the street, two more boards carry the campaign's most recognizable face.
Hatem Salah Plays a Different Character for Every Appliance
The billboards are pulled from a wider film built around actor Hatem Salah, and the ad's opening line, "Sharaf," reads as a wink at a rival electronics retailer before Salah takes over the frame himself. From there, the film moves him through a rotation of characters, each one paired with a different home appliance: a hair dryer, a fridge, an air fryer, using costume changes rather than a single product hero to make its point. The billboards pull two of those characters into the street. In one, Salah appears styled as a jockey, promoting Dream 2000's online ordering. In the other, he shows up in yellow beside a fridge and washing machine, pushing the buy-now-pay-later message directly. The strategy behind the character-hopping is straightforward: Dream 2000 has spent years being read as a phone and electronics shop, and swapping Salah into a new role for every appliance category is the fastest way to argue, without saying it outright, that the store covers a lot more than mobiles.
A Retailer Leaning Into Repetition, Not Just Reach
What makes this placement notable isn't any single board, it's the decision to run four creatives on one street instead of spreading that budget across separate locations. A commuter passing through sees the installment pitch, the product range, and Salah cycling through characters in close succession, getting the full offer stack in one pass rather than piecing it together over a week of separate sightings.
Part of a Bigger Retail Media Pattern
This isn't Dream 2000's first high-visibility outdoor push this year. The retailer's earlier Samsung Galaxy S26 Series campaign ran on a lavender-toned hoarding board along one of Cairo's busiest arteries, positioning Dream 2000 as Samsung's retail partner in the city. Where that campaign leaned on a single flagship product to carry the message, this one goes the opposite direction, using volume, category range, and a shape-shifting celebrity face to cover Dream 2000's full catalogue at once. Together, the two campaigns suggest a retailer treating Cairo's OOH corridors as a standing storefront, one that shifts tone by product but keeps showing up.
