From SUV to Sedan: A Deliberate Shift in Focus

Renault is putting the Megane in the spotlight across Greater Cairo's DOOH, using its latest campaign to highlight the different features and benefits that shape the sedan's proposition. The campaign marks a shift from the brand's focus on the Austral SUV in its previous March rollout, bringing the Megane sedan back into the spotlight as Renault's latest featured model.

One Car, Many Angles

Instead of centering the campaign around a single selling proposition, Renault split the focus across several aspects of the Megane, keeping the car at the core of every execution. This came to life through visuals that showcase each specification in action. One execution highlights the Easy Trunk Access by presenting a subject emptying the trunk, reinforcing the vehicle's practicality. Another puts the Megane's performance on the road forward while highlighting its 1.3 turbocharged engine, which produces 150 HP. The rest of the visual flow follows the same beat, with features such as keyless entry receiving their own dedicated executions.

Why the Format Fits the Strategy

The strategy here is particularly relevant to the DOOH format, as each visual answers a different question the audience might have about the car at a glance. This allows the campaign to build a complete picture across multiple touchpoints, making the digital rollout all the more sensible. The campaign then wraps the product story with a 0% interest rate offer, letting Renault answer another key consideration at the same time, not just what the Megane offers, but how accessible it can be.

The Megane's Unusual Staying Power in Egypt

The choice to keep pushing the Megane sedan is notable given where the model stands globally. Across much of Western Europe, Renault has been steering demand toward SUVs like the Austral and Arkana, and the Megane's hatchback and estate versions have seen sales decline as a result. Egypt is one of a handful of markets, alongside Morocco and Lebanon, where the Megane sedan has held on and kept selling through local assembly, which helps keep import costs and pricing more manageable for buyers. That local production is part of why Renault can still afford to run a full multi-feature campaign around a model that's being quietly phased out elsewhere.
