MidBank's Mogo Paints the Street Red: A Rebrand's First Public Statement
A red billboard rarely needs an introduction, but this one carries the weight of a full identity change behind it. Mogo, the consumer finance platform previously known as Mid Takseet, has taken to Cairo's roads with its first campaign since rebranding, and the choice of medium speaks to intent. A name change on an app store listing is easy to miss. A two-panel billboard on a main road is not.
The creative splits its message across two distinct scenes. One panel drops the viewer into a living room where a group of young men lounges over a card game, headphones slung around necks, a bear print hanging crookedly on the wall behind them. It is unhurried, familiar, the kind of afternoon that needs no caption. The other panel abandons lifestyle entirely for utility, presenting a straightforward screenshot of the Mogo app interface, complete with installment terms and a "Buy Now, Pay Later" prompt rendered in plain English against the red backdrop.
The pairing does real work. Where the first panel sells a mood, the second sells a mechanism, walking the viewer from feeling to function in the space of two boards. The tagline, "buy now, install with ease," anchors both, translating financial flexibility into something closer to a lifestyle promise than a lending product.
What makes the rollout notable is less the creative than the context. Backed by MIDBANK, Mogo enters Egypt's increasingly crowded BNPL and consumer finance space carrying institutional weight but a fresh public face. For a rebrand's opening move, choosing outdoor media over a quieter digital rollout suggests a brand eager to be seen before it is searched for, betting that visibility on the street will do the introductions digital ads alone cannot.
