Hardee’s Turns Up the Volume on Value With Massive ‘Overloader’ OOH Campaign

Hardee’s is making sure motorists across Dubai and Sharjah know exactly what it wants to be associated with this season: more. The fast-food company has launched a massive outdoor advertising campaign for its new line called Overloader, taking up prime space in billboards, screens, and lampposts throughout the UAE, and following their latest OOH appearance previously.

The advertisements feature enormous wraps filled with crispy chicken, beef patties, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sauce, all underpinned by one key message – “More of Everything.” From a visual perspective, the advertisement makes it hard to take your eyes off of the product being advertised. The massive image is set on a completely dark background, leaving the wrap itself to stand out. The focus here is firmly on the classic approach to food service business: making the product irresistible.

The name Overloader alone has become part of this communication strategy. In a highly competitive category, where companies compete with one another by offering more indulgence, more size, and more value, just mentioning the name creates a sense of excess. It is clear from the start that the Overloader wraps are not about premium or gourmet meals but rather an abundance of ingredients and flavors in each meal.

The bilingual strategy allows for seamless translation of the message among the diverse population of the UAE. No matter which language one chooses, both English and Arabic versions of the slogan are equally clear – bigger portions, more full wraps and a product which is all about quantity.

One thing that stands out about this campaign is the fact that it is quite extensive. The ads have been placed in a variety of formats including large format hoardings as well as roadside billboards. This way Hardee’s transforms what could be another ordinary product launch campaign into a true visibility campaign in the city.

Given the current saturation in the quick-service restaurants market where consumers are constantly bombarded by limited time offers, Hardee’s chose to create something straightforward yet effective. For a product called Overloader, subtlety was never going to be the strategy.

Hardee’s campaign appeared on Dubai and Sharjah’s hoardings, mega coms, and lampposts, taking place in the first week of June.
