Vie Communities Unveils Vie Halo on Cairo's Outdoor Billboards
With competition growing among the real estate offerings in Egypt, developers are opting for lifestyle branding instead of conventional residential branding. An example of the current trend can be found in a recent out-of-home campaign by Vie Communities for Vie Halo, which is described as "The Finest Hospitality, Entertainment & Business Destination in New Cairo."
The campaign has been deployed in high traffic areas in New Cairo in a minimalist way. Gone is the usual imagery through renderings, busy layouts, and endorsements by celebrities. Instead, the focus of the campaign relies mainly on typography and the creation of an appropriate atmosphere. A monochrome scheme is used, with huge embossed typefaces emanating from the grey background, giving the billboard the appearance of a building itself, reflecting the nature of the development.
"Launching Soon" appears at the top left corner of the board, while the remainder is dedicated to conveying a simple message that captures all that the property is about. Described as a vertical town “made for movement”, Vie Halo is a mixed-use destination with commercial, administrative, and branded residences. Through the minimality of the design and the focus on a single statement, the advertisement has moved beyond being just an offer to becoming a branding tool for establishing Vie Halo as a landmark.
The reason why this rollout is quite noticeable is the way the campaign uses placement. The promotion is displayed on billboards in New Cairo that use a lot of open roads and spaces in areas characterized by active urbanization and development. Against this background, the minimalist nature of the campaign looks even more obvious and powerful.
It can also be noted that there is an evident change in terminology used in the campaign. Instead of emphasizing Vie Halo's status as a development project, the developers decided to focus on positioning it as a destination combining hospitality, leisure activities, and business under one roof. This approach is quite popular in modern Egypt since most recently built projects use such positioning as well.
However, the visual aspect of the campaign can be described as its most prominent characteristic as well. Since there are no complex images used, the focus of the campaign automatically shifts to typography that looks impressive enough against this background. It makes the overall look of the campaign quite distinctive and unique compared to similar promotional projects in Egypt.
