KFH Egypt Makes Tap-to-Pay Impossible to Miss in Cairo
A towering billboard across Cairo stops commuters mid-glance with a simple yet powerful announcement: your iPhone is now your Kuwait Finance House card, as Kuwait Finance House Egypt unveils its latest outdoor campaign introducing Apple Pay.
The visual cues of the billboard are noteworthy for their simplicity, featuring a dominant image that is a hyper-realistic iPhone screen showing a digital bank card within the Apple Wallet app. The familiar green bank card with the KFH logo and Visa insignia is prominently displayed. The hand that holds the iPhone is relaxed, as if the act of using it as a bank card has become second nature. The simplicity of the image is a metaphor for the simplicity of the message itself, highlighting how banking is no longer something you carry; it is something you hold in the palm of your hand.
Following their prior Gold promise billboards, the new campaign reads: “Your iPhone is now your Kuwait Finance House Bank Egypt card” in bold, confident font. The message is deliberately clear and unambiguous, focusing on the iPhone itself as a metaphorical bank card.
High above the Cairo traffic, the billboard is a tech announcement rather than a traditional bank ad, and that’s by design, a look that seeks to place the bank in the same category as the tech brand that is associated with minimalism, Apple. The subtle placement of the KFH and Apple Pay logos gives the advertisement credibility and makes it universally relevant.
By rendering a complex tech feature into a single, immediately comprehensible image, KFH Egypt are successful in making something like digital banking tangible.
