Perform Sharjah Returns for the Third Season on the UAE's DOOH
Perform Sharjah is back for a third season, courtesy of the Sharjah Art Foundation and is gracing billboard across the emirate of Sharjah. This year's promotional campaign for Perform Sharjah gives sneak peeks into some of this season's most anticipated entertainment performances, featuring well-known figures such as Sayed Ragab and creative duos such as Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige.
Running from late October 2024 through early January 2025, the showcase underpins Sharjah's growing reputation as a regional keystone for performing arts by fostering this dynamic space- one where local and international artists can connect in cross-cultural artistic dialogues. For long, Sharjah has been famous for its theatre scene with several theatre festivals and dedicated institutions, and it's become a pioneering spot in the region that assembles talent across the Middle East.
Events this season are productions that work with the theme of memory, resilience, and the power of storytelling in engaging with different complex realities in the Arab world. This year's opening piece will be Mute by the acclaimed theatre director Sulayman Al Bassam. Alongside Mute, the season includes Reminiscencia by Malicho Vaca Valenzuela, The Vertiginous Story of Orthosia by filmmakers Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Nicolas Fattouh’s debut work, Living with a Piece of Furniture, and features dancer and choreographer Nacera Belaza’s La Nuée. Meanwhile, Ahmed El Attar collaborates with prominent actor Sayed Ragab in the work A Writer on Honeymoon.
On vibrant digital screens across Sharjah, this new campaign was unleashed in the first week of November.
