The World Urban Forum WUF12 climbs up on Greater Cairo’s OOH open spaces announcing the twelfth session of the forum that will be taking place this year in Cairo, Egypt. The World Urban Forum, organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN - Habitat), will be held from November 4 to 8 2024 according to the ad copy. This marks a significant return of the forum to the African continent after more than two decades since its inception in Nairobi, Kenya in 2002. The forum, which serves as a global platform for discussing issues and promoting sustainable urban development, will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, urban planners, architects, researchers, and civil society representatives from around the world. The visual portrays the bold and clear ad copy “Welcome” along with “4-8 November 2024” and the address which is at “Egypt International Exhibition Center.” Another visual uses the hashtag “#It all starts at home.” The campaign also prominently displays the World Urban Forum Twelfth Session logo which is very colorful and vibrant with minor symbolism referring to the fact that the event will be held in Egypt, portraying a pyramid, the sun, a masjid, and a couple of towers and buildings. The buildings’ aesthetic embeds abstract drawings of characters, figures and landscapes making it colorful using white and indigo as main colors for the overall theme and background. Indigo is a color associated with profound thought, devotion, wisdom and justice making it a perfect color choice for the advert. On the other hand, white symbolizes purity, balance and innocence.
