One has encountered many innovative projects when it comes to the real estate industry. From towering skyscrapers to entire compounds that feel like a piece of heaven, and to multi-purpose buildings that seem like an encapsulated world unto themselves. But perhaps what’s less common is the idea of an entire smart city! The OOH scene in Dubai has had a new addition, which is a new outdoor campaign promoting one of the most ambitious projects in the history of the entire region and the world; Neom. Neom is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. It is planned to incorporate smart city technologies and also function as a tourist destination. The site is north of the Red Sea, east of Egypt across the Strait of Tiran. It’s a city without cars, a city of advanced technology, a city where the future of urban development shall become a reality, and even more accurately, it feels like a science fiction concept brought to life. Neom boasts the following features: NO CARS, as Communities are built for people with a five-minute walk to live, work, and play. A CITY INTEGRATED WITH NATURE, with the goal of restoring the connection with nature to improve health and well-being for a happier lifestyle. And it is a city POWERED BY CLEAN ENERGY, which is achieved by providing abundant renewable energy for a sustainable future. The billboards feature a simple design, with a mountainous landscape working as the background of the ad, and the name of the city is accompanied by the logo, which in turn is representative of the various ecologies of the city. The ad copy showcases the slogan “Made to Change” or “انطلاقة التغيير”, further emphasizing Neom’s push for the future, and how this city shall mark a completely new era of innovation. The campaign is a fairly new one that was released during the fourth week of September and was distributed across limited OOH and DOOH spots in Dubai City.
