Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk has an exciting addition, as presented on an OOH campaign; Taiko. The prize-winning restaurant in Amsterdam, has opened its first foreign outlet, a modern Asian cuisine and bar developed by Executive Chef Schilo van Coevorden. Taiko Dubai serves the same modern Asian cuisine as Taiko Amsterdam, inspired by the tastes and textures of the Far East, ranging from delicate to dramatic but always intriguing and distinctive, a sensational culinary journey for foodies and fans of Japanese cuisine. With Schilo's experience in the region, he's using local ingredients to create delicacies like his famed watermelon sashimi. The menu features meals that are both bold and exquisite, delivering a harmonious symphony of tastes. Taiko Dubai's design is influenced by traditional Asian materials and workmanship, yet in a modern setting. The darker color palette creates a dramatic atmosphere of mystical wonder for guests. An open kitchen revolving around a char-fired robata grill and a sushi bar convey the dramatic effect of food preparation. Black stones originating from old river beds in China and a stylized ‘tree' dominate the eating area, figuratively symbolizing the essence of the four seasons- cherry blossoms in the spring, luscious greens in the summer, and a flaming crimson acorn in the autumn. An accurate representation of the restaurant’s aura, the engaging visuals are divided into slick black and ruby red that feels like flames are licking up the billboard and spreading the heat all the way to on-goers. The ad asks, “Have you tried Taiko’s Wagyu Biryany Yet?”, as an enticing invitation to people, with the succulent plate incorporated in the visuals to increase the temptation. To facilitate the searching process, Taiko has added its location, website and socials right on the billboard. The limited campaign rolled out on digital screens across Dubai, in the third week of August.
