A Billboard Built Around Location

For a residential development, location can be one of the strongest reasons behind a buyer's decision. Times Development's latest OOH campaign for Avelin New Cairo builds its message around that idea, using a clean, location-led creative to introduce the project while keeping the communication focused and easy to absorb from the road.

The Creative Breakdown

The billboard adopts a minimal white and light-grey palette, creating a refined backdrop for the project imagery. On the left, the Times Developments logo is placed prominently above the handwritten-style statement "The location is 100", giving the campaign a confident but understated headline. The project's website is positioned beneath it, providing a direct point of contact.

The right side gives the development visual priority through a large aerial image of Avelin, showcasing its landscaped surroundings, swimming pool, residential buildings, and green spaces. The Avelin New Cairo logo sits neatly in the upper-right corner within a blue panel, while a QR code is positioned at the lower-right of the image, creating an immediate digital bridge for interested audiences.

Why Restraint Works Here

The creative's strength lies in what it chooses not to overcomplicate. Rather than filling the billboard with multiple selling points, Times Development lets location and lifestyle imagery lead the conversation, supported by simple branding and a direct digital call to action. The result is an OOH execution that introduces Avelin through the experience of its environment before asking audiences to explore further.

Behind the Campaign: Times Developments' Bigger Play

The billboard's confidence lines up with what's happening behind it. Chairman Ahmed El Sergany recently disclosed that Times Developments is evaluating new land acquisitions in West Cairo, the Red Sea and the North Coast as part of its expansion strategy, with construction investments reaching roughly EGP 30 billion over the past two years, funded primarily through self-financing rather than bank debt. Avelin itself sits at the center of that growth story. Located adjacent to Al Rehab City, around 30 percent of its construction was completed before the project's official launch, and construction on released units has now reached nearly 60 percent, a build-ahead-of-sale approach El Sergany frames as protection against inflation and material cost swings. The development itself comprises the Avelin Residence residential project and the Mall T Hub commercial component, the same mall referenced in the billboard's Times Developments branding. tradingview + 3

Did You Know?

The QR code guiding viewers to Avelin's digital details traces back to 1994, when engineer Masahiro Hara invented it at Denso Wave, a Toyota-affiliated Japanese company, to help track automotive parts on the factory floor. Denso Wave chose not to enforce its patent rights, which is a large part of why the format spread freely into billboards, packaging, and campaigns like this one decades later.
