UAE roads have recently been painted vibrantly with a new and creative out-of-home advertising campaign by The Emirates for the entrepreneurial drive under the StartupEmirates.ae initiative. The campaign positions the UAE, not only as an overseas business destination, but as "The World Capital of Entrepreneurs", encouraging residents to make that move towards establishing their own enterprises.

The billboards display dramatic photos of Emirati men and women in creative and professional environments, from workshop spaces to startup headquarters, alongside inspiring Arabic and English slogans like “Every great achievement begins with a small idea,” “Opportunities aren't given… you must create them,” and “A job gives you a salary to live… your own business gives you financial freedom to thrive.”

Each message mirrors the country's motivational chord, promising freedom, ambition, and innovation. It's motivational yet realistic, aligned with the UAE's strategic vision to foster native startups and diversify its economy through empowerment and initiative.

The campaign uses warm lighting and earthy color palettes, appealing to authenticity and determination. The attitude of the characters, both assertive and yet human, embodies pride and self-motivation. The overt referencing of StartupEmirates.ae is a call-to-action that encourages the audience to burrow into actual opportunities, bridging gaps between inspiration and means.

Emirates' Startup campaign reinvents billboards as a force to drive ambition; they do so through digital screens, lamp posts and unipoles, spread across Dubai, Ajman, and Sharjah in the first week of October.
